It tells the story of Adolfo Novak, patriarch of one of the most powerful families in the country, who gathers his family and close friends to celebrate his 80th birthday. 故事发生在1984年，马东（胡军 饰）是一名国安侦察员，他被派往军工202厂，潜伏在此处保证“蓝鱼”号核潜艇的研制顺利进行，与此同时，一帮邪恶的外国势力正在虎视眈眈的企图得到核潜艇的机密图纸，而他们所派出的间谍亦藏身于202厂之中。 在202厂，马东结识了好友陈其乾（赵立新 饰），以及厂花冯书雅（左小青 饰），陈其乾一直在追求冯书雅，而随着时间的推移，冯书雅渐渐爱上了正直可靠的马东。然而，马东的特殊身份让他不能够坦白自己对于冯书雅的感情，在误会之中，冯书雅负气嫁给了陈其乾，此时她并不知道的是，陈其乾收件人所害，已经被迫成为了敌方势力的棋子。
