简介：과거 대부호였던 왕할머니의 대저택에 숨겨진 보석을 훔치기 위해 간병인으로 입주하게 된 보영. 보영을 고용한 왕할머니의 유일한 혈육인 김사모는, ‘아무도 데려오지 말 것, 특히 아이’, ‘저수지 근처에 가지 말 것’이라는 조건을 건다. 하지만 보영은, 금기를 깨고 자신의 딸 ‘다정’을 몰래 데리고 가는데... 사람 죽어 나가는 ‘귀못’이라고 불리는 저수지 옆에 위치한 왕할머니의 거대한 저택에선 불길하고 괴이한 징조가 계속되고, 그러던 중 보영은, 이곳을 찾은 외지인들이 의문의 변사를 당한 것을 알게 된다.

The column becomes an amazing success. Ryan finds his initially superficial attraction to Page growing into love, but he cannot reveal his feelings while he is a deceptive fraud. Meanwhile, Cindy becomes aware of her growing fame, and returns to cash in, at the same time that the owner of a rival newspaper chain attempts to force Page to sell Cindy's column to him.

　　梁山两次攻打祝家庄失利。正在军师吴用为破祝家庄苦思冥想的时候，登州司马提辖孙立带着家眷来投奔梁山。孙立在登州因卷入猎户解珍、解宝兄弟与当地大户毛太公之间的纠纷，不得已离开登州投奔梁山。得知同门师兄栾廷玉在祝家庄做武教头，孙立当即立下军令状，愿以智破祝家庄作为加入梁山的投名状。
　　适逢祝家庄老夫人从泰山进香回来路过孟屯关，军师吴用巧做安排，“导演”了孙立兄弟半路救祝老夫人一场戏。孙立成了祝家庄的恩公，让祝老夫人请进了祝家庄，得以与久别的同门师兄栾廷玉重逢。孙立从贼寇手中救出祝老夫人却又没伤及一人，这事引起老庄主祝朝奉的疑虑，祝朝奉差管家派人到登州打探孙立的底细。
　　祝老庄主对孙立兄弟并不放心，一边挽留孙立兄弟在祝家庄指导城防，一边暗中试探孙立兄弟的真实来历。孙立在栾廷玉的陪同下走过祝家庄的每一个角落，发现祝家庄机关密布暗道横生，少庄主祝彪治军甚严，难怪梁山两次失利。梁山袭击祝家庄，孙立出主意，用藤条浸油制作盔甲，解决了祝家庄城防问题，初步取得了祝彪的信任。
　　孙立和弟弟孙新暗地侦查打探，没想到夫人和弟媳妇顾大嫂借陪祝老夫人看风水之机，早已画出祝家庄的地形图，却苦于没有祝家庄的城防沙盘。孙立表面镇静从容，内心实则担心祝朝奉派出的密探。孙立之虑，军师吴用早已料到。在密探见到登州太守后将其捉拿，按登州太守的笔迹修书一封给祝朝奉，命已经投奔梁山的密探带回祝家庄。
　　孙立用藤条编制盔甲、密探捎来登州太守的亲笔信，两件事让孙立彻底取得了祝彪的信任，孙立得以进入祝家庄除丧鼓廊以外的任何军事机密机关。孙立借外出打猎之机，将祝家庄的城防图藏于箭中，射向一壑相隔的军师吴用，不久就收到投奔梁山的密探带来的所需之物。
　　梁山佯攻祝家庄，孙立出阵擒获石秀和杨雄，带回祝家庄做内应。祝朝奉六十大寿之日，孙立与军师吴用相约内应外合智破祝家庄。祝朝奉寿辰第二天清晨，梁山一举攻破祝家庄，孙立孙新兄弟、石秀、杨雄分头击发，故意留栾廷玉一条生路。栾廷玉追悔自杀，孙新除掉祝彪，石秀灭了祝朝奉，荡平祝家庄后浩浩荡荡奔梁山而去。

简介：Fraught with over obvious symbolism, Hartley's early feature is nonetheless a joy to watch. Hal here shows us his uncanny ability to cast his characters perfectly came early in his career.　　Adrienne Shelley is a near perfect foil to herself, equal parts annoying teen burgeoning in her sexuality (though using sex for several years); obsessed with doom and inspired by idealism gone wrong she is deceptively – and simultaneously – complex and simple. Her Audrey inspires so many levels of symbolism it is almost embarrassingly rich (e.g., her modeling career beginning with photos of her foot – culminating her doing nude (but unseen) work; Manhattan move; Europe trip; her stealing, then sleeping with the mechanics wrench, etc.)　　As Josh, Robert Burke gives an absolutely masterful performance. A reformed prisonerpenitent he returns to his home town to face down past demons, accept his lot and begin a new life. Dressed in black, and repeatedly mistaken for a priest, he corrects everyone (I'm a mechanic), yet the symbolism is rich he abstains from alcohol, he practices celibacy (is, in fact a virgin), and seemingly has taken on vows of poverty, and humility as well. The humility seems hardest to swallow seeming, at times, almost false, a pretense. Yet, as we learn more of Josh we see genuineness in his modesty, that his humility is indeed earnest and believable. What seems ironic is the character is fairly forthright in his simplicity, yet so richly drawn it becomes the viewer who wants to make him out as more than what he actually is. A fascinatingly written character, perfectly played.　　The scene between Josh and Jane (a wonderful, young Edie Falco . . . You need a woman not a girl) is hilarious . . . real. But Hartley can't leave it as such and his trick, having the actors repeat the dialogue over-and-over becomes frustratingly arty and annoying . . . until again it becomes hilarious. What a terrific sense of bizarre reality this lends the film (like kids in a perpetual am notare too argument).　　Hartley's weaves all of a small neighborhood's idiosyncrasies into a tapestry of seeming stereotypes but which delves far beneath the surface, the catalyst being that everyone believes they know what the unbelievable truth of the title is, yet no two people can agree (including our hero) on what exactly that truth is. A wonderful little movie with some big ideas.
