It tells the story of Adolfo Novak, patriarch of one of the most powerful families in the country, who gathers his family and close friends to celebrate his 80th birthday. It’s 2011 and we’re in Rome. The government is on the verge of collapse, the Vatican is at crisis point and the city’s squares are quite literally on fire.
