程子东（廖伟雄饰）任职家庭电器用品营业主任，与女友陆家宜（毛舜筠饰）已到谈婚论嫁之地步。东自父身故，便负起照顾母亲周丽娟﹝谭倩红饰﹞、弟子南（黎耀祥饰）和妹子敏（陈佩珊饰）的责任。 东发现一廉价楼出售，于是决与宜结婚，共同供楼。谁料二人积蓄不够付首期，宜惟向姊家玲﹝李司棋饰﹞借贷，与东筑爱巢。 玲早年因要照顾宜跟男友闹翻，至今未婚，后从新加坡返港，与东、宜一同居住，其后，更加入东之公司工作。未几，玲与东工作和家庭均生矛盾，闹出不少笑话。
