警長的離奇死亡真相，只有他能解開謎團！
　　洛杉磯警官傑西來到麻州的天堂鎮就職，遠離傷心的婚姻。這個小鎮人口稀少，警方則遭到鎮議長控制。剛退休的警察局長隨即離奇死亡，傑西發現內情不單純。一個涉嫌家暴的男子似乎涉有重嫌，而這個人又和鎮議長的太太有染。傑西明白，這個寧靜的小鎮實際上暗潮洶湧……
